Bobs
A-H1N1 is not a matter of’…”The more the merrier”.

ML-L3 — Finally got the wireless remote which I needed.
Small little thing with a pretty big pricetag!

Selected Sim heeeh.

To tell ye the truth, this here Plumb-Bob belongs to my friend who pre-ordered a copy of The Sims 3.

If only this thing could change colours from green to orange or red depending on one’s mood.. ![]()
..but still, it’s the most interesting thumbdrive I’ve ever seen. I can spend hours by just looking at it.
Yesterday, Farisha told me this joke:
There were two hydrogen atoms.
Hydrogen atom 1: Hey, I think I’m losing an electron.
Hydrogen atom 2: Are you sure?
Hydrogen atom 1: I’m positive.
You must know your chemistry.
Doubts
“Actually ah, how does turning off the lights helps in saving the environment?”
“I donno. Isn’t the energy used to produce light reusable? Conserving them [for an hour] won’t make much of a difference. You’re going to use them again later.”
“Oh yalah. “
“Eh, light can pollute one ah?”
Guess my allegiance.
Perspective
I am taking Art for my SPM.
There are three papers for Art. Paper three is basically about “making stuff” and compiling some research/work/what-you-did’s into a folio. I received the question paper last month (I think) and I had to choose 1 task/question out of 10. There were three possible choices:
- Designing a T-shirt for some [non-existent] scuba diving club
- Making a pen holder with nature-related motives surrounding it (carpentry skills involved here)
- Designing an audio-visual room/home theatre
Choice #1 sounds..fishy. I’m not a fan of marine stuff AND I think I’ve had enough of T-shirt designing. Choice #2 is already boring per se. My mom has made one too many of those at home and by nature, I have bad chemistry with themes related to nature.
..which leaves me to choice #3 – Interior designing! I thought that it’d be a brill to try out something new. I have to come up with a 3D model of an audio-visual room/home theatre. Can you imagine how fun [or torturous] it would be to make those miniature-furniture? Or perhaps, throw in some real lighting?
With that said, I will be needing a lot of quality time with The Sims 2. The source of inspiration and gibberish. Shan’t forget about Ikea too.
Three-day holidaze
What d’you think I’d do when I’m sick at this time?
The answer: Go mad with the pen + tablet and indulge in digital painting.
..Which means I have two new deviations to share with you non-deviants
Click on ‘em thumbnails for full-view.
On a completely unrelated note, here’s a video about a Kiwi bird trying to accomplish the impossible. I find the ending pretty sad.
Since I plan to take digital animation in the future, I wonder if I ever get to come up with simple stuff that’s equally as good as the one above. Just a few days ago, the school invited several colleges/universities for some Education Fair thingy. The only booth I went to was The One Academy. The dude at the booth said that interesting storylines are very important, as nobody likes boring ones (duh).
AND there’s also a fair chance that I’ll get to study in England, rather than Scotland.

I got my pair of footwear for my piano competition last week and today, I learnt that it is a slipper.
A head-smacking moment. (what can I say, I AM ignorant towards fashion terms anyway)
It looks a little bit like this, minus those mad heels:

Ohmaigads, 11009 kPa.
Today, I also learnt that I must wear something that covers the perimeter of the feet. This is something I never knew until today. It’s not that my piano teacher who was being fussy, no. Everyone’s just afraid of getting bashed by the lady boss…and we all know that slippers incident during Talentime ‘08..
“Some of you looked like you just came out from the toilet”
I’m not going to complain. I was at least notified beforehand. I’m still in for some real danger, though. The competition falls on the 6th. Two nights away. My teacher is kind enough to let me borrow her boots (which I will be trying on tomorrow and I will have to get stockings/leggings). The room temperature, as I said before, will most likely be low. And when my fingers get numb, I’ll have difficulty playing the fast, running notes (fellow pianists should know) So many things to worry about.
The final danger: My mom and her taunts.

Wish me luck.
Come together
one Today is George’s Harrison’s (of the Beatles) 7th death anniversary.

The photo was taken around the 60’s-70’s (yes, THAT is a camera)…Aaaand we thought that taking photos in front of a mirror is a very new [and somewhat annoying] trend..
It’s a bit of a scary fact that his only son, Dhani Harrison, looks exactly like his father. (The rest of the Beatles kids don’t really resemble their dads)
two I got my first dress. Ja, you heard me. First. Never had one before. Maybe that’s why I never appear in formal functions, heh. The sole reason why I had to get a dress is because I will be participating in my piano competition finals next Saturday and it will be a formal event. The one and only prize is RM500 (for each category) and I will be playing this song. Fast, yes, but sometimes I think that I played much faster than that :S
Riiiight, back to the dress issue, finding one was possibly one of the hardest things I HAD TO do. Matching formal footwear is included. Why was it so hard?
- I am short and small and getting the right size was one thing.
- I had to look for those short-sleeved ones because I’d hate to go around sleeveless, not to mention the most-likely-cold room temperature.
- I would not want to wear high-heels because I am not used to walking on something that makes you want to tip-toe AND I think it is difficult to master the art of depressing the pedal with high-heels (although it’s possible). So I had to look for something 180° WITH acceptable designs.
- I am just so darn fussy in this case
You know, I might as well design my own dress in the future. That’s when art comes in
three Roughly six years ago, Astro used to have this channel called TechTV – it was about gaming, computing, robots and everything techy. Under that channel, there was this program called Eye Drops, where original animated shorts were displayed. I loved that show. Unfortunately, TechTV got removed off Astro (due to unknown reasons) but my geeky pursuit lives on.
There was one animation I enjoyed watching so much, and I might as well share it right here:
four A piece that took months to finish.
five Soon, I might be watching Twilight to see how bad it is
I respect opera singers
Seriously, I do.
He [Paul Potts] won the first place in Britain’s Got Talent, by the way.
On another note, a MUSICAL note, at a faraway island..
Yeah, have a good laugh, you.
Wizardry, vampirism, and all of the world’s craziness
Bwaaah.
Come and point your burning pitchforks at me.
Why I think that Stephenie Meyer is no better than J.K. Rowling:
1. J.K. Rowling is obviously much more creative, in terms of the creations in the magical universe and the storyline. She came up with the wizard sport named Quidditch (plus how the game works), muggles, name of spells, horcruxes, so on and so forth. It makes you think that the whole universe of witchcraft and wizardry exists somewhere out there, although you actually know that it’s all fictional. I doubt that Meyer has made any fancy words. Even if there is any, it’ll never be as much as Rowling’s.
2. Like I said in my previous post, Meyer’s Edward Cullen is too perfect. Oh come on, a good-looking dude who’s a vampire that sparkles and claims that he is a vegetarian…yeah. Not your average vampire, but it sounds like his characteristics were taken randomly from a pile of flawless traits. Not good. Ugh. Even Harry Potter does not seem as “fake and too perfect” as that Cullen fellow.
3. Rowling’s Harry Potter appeals to a wider audience. Meyer’s Twilight series appeals to teenagers and pre-teens. Or more like for people who have love issues or some fetish towards vampirism.
“So…Twilight is your love bible?”
4. I just love how Rowling can write an amazing series in about 10 years. The story’s just too good, especially when there are all of those unexpected twists. Take Snape, for example. None of us could have guessed what happened during his past (it was so saddening that it made me cry). Plus the death of many which leaves us dumbfounded. Oh, how we used to think that Harry Potter was really going to die. As for Twilight, it looks like an everyday love story, as though it was based on Meyer’s life. I believe that her life depends on it. Heh.
5. Theme, theme, theme. Harry Potter has plenty of it. Love, friendship, courage, power, and a whole lot of death. Going through adolescenthood. Having to fit in. Twilight? 97% love. 2% blood-shopping. 1% lust.

What say you?
(+) A video which you all might love:
(+) All of the Form Four students are supposed to go to Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology (!!) as a little trip on this coming Tuesday. Apparently, my class teacher did not know that there was a permission slip for us to fill in (it’s a little bit too late now). It’s a compulsory trip anyway, and I do hope that I could go there. Should the plan succeed, I shall take my D40 along with me to do some photo-snapping.
Frolick in the autumn mist
I grew up listening to oldies. I also grew up listening to “Puff the Magic Dragon” + the german version, “Paff der Zauberdrachen”
I just remembered about this song today and I thought of listening to it again, after many, many years.
Puff makes my eyes puffy, and no pun intended. Really, this song makes me cry. Every single time. Without fail. I guess it’s just the melody of the song which blends so well with the singer’s soothing voice. Or just the story within it. Have a listen.
The English version (the highly effective one that made me cry):
Puff the Magic Dragon, performed by Peter, Paul & Mary
The German version (which I oftenly listened to, as a kid, compared to the English version):
Paff der Zauberdrachen, performed by Marlene Dietrich
Right, maybe the German version wasn’t so saddening to me because I don’t wholly understand German. Looks like this is my kind of “emo music”..*laughs*
Now, let’s see if any of you had puffy eyes, like I had..
